Having a spoil in Chobe

On a recent trip to Chobe I spent my last night  at Chobe Chilwero which is  part of the Sanctuary Group  (very aptly named). After running around for a few days it was the ultimate space to relax.

The staff make you feel right at home -  and what a great “home” it would be!

Baines Baobabs.

Our 2010 self drive Botswana trip took us to Baines Baobabs. My family had breakfast in the shade of the giant old baobab trees that got their name from the famous African explorer Thomas Baines.

The space, solitude and stillness are an overwhelming memory.

End of year 2011

We took our whole team to Tuli in Southern Botswana for an end of year celebration.

Tuli has a unique landscape unlike any other in Botswana, with rugged rocky terrain.

Driving Botswana

Mrs Custard, our trusty Land Rover has traversed the length and breadth of Botswana orginally as a support vehicle for the Big Cat Diaries on TV and now as part of our family.
A slow pace is the perfect way to take in the sights and smells of Botswana.  So stop a while and enjoy.

Wilderness Safaris Camps

Luck must have been on my side when I was privileged enough to experience the Okavango & Linyanti areas with Wilderness Safaris.  These areas are just mind blowing & completely remote.

At Chitabe, the highlights were sightings of leopard, lion & a hyena den (just to name a few!)

At Jacana we searched for the elusive Pells fishing owl on foot & spent a few hours on a mokoro marveling at all the tiny creatures that make up this magnificent area.

The Okavango Delta should be on everyone’s bucket list!

Stanleys Camp Okavango

How many people in this world can say they have had lunch with a fully grown elephant?

Visitors to Stanleys camp should absolutely include the gentle & informative Elephant Experience into their stay.

One of the most amazing life experiences I have ever had!
