In the far south eastern corner of Botswana, where Botswana points a 'finger' at Zimbabwe, lies the Tuli Block. Not on the usual fly-in safari circuit, Tuli is an area of dramatic scenery and a sanctuary for many species of big game and birdlife. Easiest to reach by vehicle it's an easy four and a half hours drive from Johannesburg making it perfect for a weekend getaway. Fly in guests on safari within Botswana can reach Tuli by air charter.
The Northern Tuli Game Reserve will soon form part of the new Transfrontier Park, which will link Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe into what will be one of the world's most spectacular wildlife destinations. This will include not only the Tuli Block, Tuli Circle and the Venetia Wild Dogs but also Mapungubwe National Park, a world heritage site which is steeped in history.
