Deep in the Okavango Delta nestled on the edge of Chief's Island is Oddballs Camp. This camp offers a unique rustic experience.
The camp is only accessible by light aircraft, so guests can enjoy a bird's eye-view of the Delta before reaching the Oddballs airstrip . Guests are met at the airstrip by their personal guide who will be with them for the duration of their stay, accompanying guests on safari walks or taking guests on his own mokoro on daily forays on the waterways of crystal clear water.
Accommodation is in dome tents on elevated wooden decks, shaded by reed shelters. Each tent is equipped with mattresses and pillows. (Ablution facilities are shared )
The bar is strategically positioned so that guests can enjoy sundowners whilst watching the resident elephants frequenting their favourite "watering-hole".
Overnight camping excursions: Oddballs offers overnight excursions into the heart of the Okavango Delta that can last from two nights up to five nights. One is transported via the numerous water channels in a dugout tree-trunk serving as a comfortable canoe (mokoro) to overnight spots or walking areas. All camping equipment and food is provided (other than bedding and pillows so bring your own sleeping bag.) You set off with your guide to explore the wonders of one of the last few natural deltas left. The trail travels through the Moremi Game Reserve, an area renowned for its diverse bird and animal life where one has good chance of seeing hippo, elephant, antelope and much more. Overnight camping excursions need to be booked in advance of guest’s arrival. The first and last night of an Oddball’s safari is spent in camp.
